Insurance companies are frequently involved in automobile accident lawsuits and at times try to get affected parties to settle quickly, often before the injured persons understand their rights under the law.  A lawyer experienced in insurance law can help you get just compensation to cover damage to property, bodily injury and/or disability, lost income potential, and related pain and suffering.  The licensed attorneys at Turbin Chu can help you understand your legal rights and the rights that may exist under the law for any and all family members affected by injuries sustained by you and will be in a position to get the settlement you deserve.

If you are involved in an automobile accident:
  • Call 911 from a cell phone, if you have one. Or have someone else contact the police, and, if you think you may have one or more injuries, even if the symptoms are not apparent at the time of the accident, tell the officer writing the accident report that you may have been injured be.
  • Seek medical care if you think you are injured.  Often, back and neck injuries' symptoms only become apparent several days after the accident.
  • Do not move the vehicles until the police instruct you to, unless you must for safety's sake. Try to stay in your car if you think you might be hurt. Unless it would be too dangerous to stay put, it is more risky to move an accident victim before help arrives than to wait.
  • Should the other driver attempt to leave, write down the car's license number or other characteristics of the vehicle.
  • Identify other witnesses who saw the accident. Get their names and telephone numbers.
  • Do not speak with representatives of any other driver's insurance company.
  • Resist insurance company representatives if you feel they are trying to deny or delay reimbursement for your accident-related expenses and losses.
