When you’re driving to work or school, you don’t expect to get into a crash. You usually have your mind on the road and other things, like what you’re going to do when you get where you’re going.
Unfortunately, other drivers can be reckless, and their actions could lead to you suffering an injury or being killed in a crash. Take, for example, this case out of Hawaii in which a 46-year-old man was killed.
A multivehicle accident took place at around 11:00 a.m. in the Kapolei area when a 23-year-old man hit a vehicle being driven by the 46-year-old victim. The victim’s vehicle went on to collide with a third car, and that vehicle went on to rear-end a fourth vehicle.
Initially, the man was identified as being in critical condition, but he later passed away at the hospital. It has been reported that his death is the 12th fatality in the state this year. Though the investigation is ongoing, drugs, alcohol and speed are not seen as contributing factors in this crash.
It’s not clear what caused the crash in this case, but one thing that you should remember is that there are dozens of things that can go wrong on the roads. It is important that all drivers take the right training courses and prepare for their time on the road. They should be focused and avoid being distracted by their phone or other devices. If they do look away, even for a second, it could lead to a significant pile-up collision like the one that happened in this case.
